After moving here the end of July my husband Marc and I were searching for a kitchen island that wasn't cheaply made or terribly expensive. One of our neighbors suggested we give Uncle Jake's a try and we not only found the perfect kitchen island/bar but several other pieces that fit perfectly.
Just who is this Uncle Jake?
Founded in 1995 by husband and wife team Lynn & Linda Schwebach, Uncle Jake's Furniture started as a small, 4,000 sq. ft. closeout furniture store located in Greenville, SC. Back then we were known as "Uncle Jake's Bargain Furniture & Bedding" and people loved coming and hunting for their perfect hidden treasure.
As time went on, the furniture industry started changing, gone were the days you could buy high quality furniture and offer it at steep discounts to your clientele. Rather than follow the crowd and sell the same product as everyone else, the Schwebach's made a bold decision...
They decided to change.
That decision started them down the path to what Uncle Jake's Furniture is today. First, it was carrying solid wood unfinished furniture and custom finishing. Then, it was moving into the HUGE 20,000 sq. ft. showroom they call home today.
Always looking for a way to offer their clients something unique, Uncle Jake's made another bold choice...
They decided to offer high quality, handcrafted, made in America, Amish furntiure. Adding yet another level of craftsmanship to an already impressive line up.
So, who is this Uncle Jake you ask?
He is an idea. An idea from the days when you went to your local shop, they knew you and you knew them. Where you had great conversations, you found quality products, and never felt pressure.
